What happens during the free 20-minute discovery call?

We will discuss what brings you to seek therapy or coaching and what your desired goal is. I will let you know how I work, and together we can decided if the fit feels right and how you wish to proceed. Some find therapy and coaching to be extremely beneficial and choose to make it a long-term process.

 

How long will therapy take?

There is no specific timeframe for working through issues. Depending on what your issues are and how deeply you want to go in resolving them, therapy can last from a few months to much longer.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapists are trained to help you deal with significant emotional and relational concerns, while coaches help you do what you want to do better and more successfully. Both professions can help you get to a better place than where you are now.

 

When should I seek the professional help of therapy or coaching?

If you are committed to making personal changes for greater life satisfaction – if you have reached the point of “being sick and tired of being sick and tired” – then you are ready.

Do you accept insurance?

It depends on the package you have with your insurance broker. If your insurance package includes Registered Psychotherapist then your insurance will cover my therapy services. If your insurance package includes life coaching, then it will cover my coaching services.

 

Does what we talk about remain confidential?

Confidentiality is essential in both therapy and coaching, because require a high degree of trust. The only time I will share anything with another is when I seek help from a trusted colleague, with your permission, or when you direct me to do so, in writing. By law, therapists and all health professionals are mandated to make certain disclosures if there is a high risk of self-harm or physical harm to others.

 

Do you prescribe medication?

No, I do not prescribe medication.

 

How long are your sessions?

The length of our session depends on the kind of service you receive: An individual therapy or coaching session is 50 minutes long; A family group session is from 2 to 3 hours long.
